A musician of eclectic talents on Didgeridoo, hand drums and guitar, Masood Ali Khan has recorded his first album with Producer David "Duke Mushroom" Schommer within the anticipated, ‘The Yoga Sessions”, series.
With his heart in a pure place of Bhakti, Masood composes and performs his music with the greater intention of helping humanity. He creates storytelling compositions with captivating melodies to inspire the spiritual being within the human. This record features Masood’s mastery of the enchanting new percussive instrument called the ‘Hang’ (pronounced “Hung”). The Hang looks like a flying saucer, and indeed sounds like it is from another solar system. With its ethereal resonating overtones and a harmonic minor scale it is an instrument of relaxation, joy and hope.
Dr. Masood Ali Khan, Ph.D., was born from Indian parents and raised in London. A practitioner of yoga for 20 years and student of acupuncture, Masood was also head of the teaching faculty for Human and Universal Energy for Health and Wellness at the International University for Complementary Medicines in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Combining the power of the Heart and Mind’s healing potential for humanity, Masood’s Hang becomes a medium, transferring positive intentions within the sound vibrations of the recordings. The listener senses this and feelings of love, creativity, passion and compassion come alive within them.

A live performer for the elite yoga teachers of LA (Such as Shiva Rea, Saul David Raye, Peter Sterios, Terra Gold and Ashley Turner) Masood has spread his music internationally across the USA to Europe, Asia, Australia and even Ibiza, adding to countless playlists for yoga classes and daily listening. He has performed at Eselan institute, Kripalu Center and ‘Bhakti Fest’ ’09 among others.
Performing alongside some of the stars of Bhakti music, such as Dave Stringer, Girish, MC Yogi, Govindas & Radha & Susanne Stirling, Masood is bringing his unique sound and performance to the rapidly growing yoga ‘Bhakti’ music movement.
