This record features Stephen Coates as the Clerkenwell Kid.
It was generally written, played and made by Stephen at the House
of the Clerkenwell Kid with the help of his friends:
Clive Painter recorded and played bass on "Daisies" and "Am I in Love?," mandolin on "Am I in Love?," keys on "Daisies" and "The Birds and the Bees;" Jacques van Rhijn played clarinet and sang backing vocals on "Daisies" and "Am I in Love?;" Jed Woodhouse played percussion on "Daisies" and "Am I in Love?;"
David Guez played guitar and sang backing vocals on "Daisies" and "Am I in Love?" and played piano on "Bruises;" Mara Carlyle sang "Bruises" (courtesy of Accidental Records); Martine Roberts dueted on "The Birds and the Bees;" Alex Budovsky played some peculiar instrument on "I Love the Rain" and Pierre Duplan provided backing vocals on "L'amour et la Mort" and "I Love the Rain." It contains vocalplanet samples from the inestimable Spectrasonics and may contain traces of nuts.
It was mastered by Bob Katz at Digital Domain, Orlando, FL and designed and photographed by Paul Heartfield.
And of course it was all impeccably stage-managed by Tracy Lee Jackson….
Thank you.
Yes, this is the story of a love affair. It was sponsored by...
Glen Duncan, Wyndham Lewis, Pat Berry, Frank Lloyd Wright, Bob Duskis, T.C. Lethbridge, Alex Budovsky, Julian Cope, Don Brosnan, Aubrey Burl, Brian Lee, Hans Richter, Claudia Gonson, William Stukely, our Six Degrees friends, Jean Cocteau, Martyn and Sophie Jacques, Max Richter, Matthew Kaplan, Susan Kerr, James Collins, Stoney Littleton long barrow, Bryan James, the Sleeping Beauty of Callanish and Matt Dornan….
but it's just for Nix - with love.
